Salt Lake County Cricket Union is a recognized member of The United States of America Cricket Association
Intermountain Cricket League
The Intermountain Cricket League has been competing loosely for the past twenty years. Our flagship tournament has been the Memorial Day Trophy, held every year over Memorial Day weekend. The current holders are the Salt Lake Cricket Club after a wonderful tournament this past spring. The trophy had been won by Las Vegas the last few years. They continue to be a powerhouse in the region.
Many fantastic players have come through these teams over the years. We have seen some fiery pace and deadly spin from bowlers and ruthless displays of batting as well.
Currently, there are 5 teams that actively participate in tournaments and one-off matches. Boise, Layton, Salt Lake, Provo and Las Vegas all have solid sides. Generally, travel happens a couple of times a year, with the majority of teams travelling to Salt Lake to play. We are hoping to be able to get a solid, consistant schedule for the upcoming 2012 season. Our goal is to have the Intermountain Cricket League become the blueprint by which other leagues in the United States can be measured.
The teams that we have continue to bring talented cricketers of all ages to their respective matches. Part of the goal of this league is to develop young talent and have the opportunity to showcase that talent on a national, and eventually international, stage.
